About Us
The foundations for the JD Group of companies were established in its first company JD Enterprises in the early 1980s by entrepreneur Mr. Sudesh Bhatia. He named the firm fondly after his two children Joti and Deepak, who were his initial motivation and the driving force behind his determination for a successful company, which he dreamed would one day be nurtured and directed by them.
The initial business objective of the company was to source and consolidate quality British made baby garments for clientele in the Middle Eastern Market. Excellent relations and understanding with suppliers meant key aspects of quality, design and quick production lead times were established. This alongside the exceptional individual service; provided by Mr. S. Bhatia, resulted in the firm’s highly ranked creditability and reputation. Consequently, over the twelve years since its conception, sales steadily increased and led to sole distribution rights of key brands within the industry being awarded to JD Enterprises.
At this very successful stage in Mr. S. Bhatia’s life he was sadly diagnosed with Leukemia. This followed a very well fought and emotional two and half year struggle for the whole family with this cancer, at the end of which he sadly passed away.
Deepak was keen to maintain his father's business and hence at the age of 19 he took on the challenge of the family business firmly. With the company’s solid foundation and the support within the industry he was able to continue to expand the firm in new directions. This was supported by establishing a core team of staff with specific knowledge and experience alongside larger operating premises that would support progress.
In addition to this he has been quick to respond to developments in the economy, investing in both commercial and residential properties within the UK and abroad focusing on selected beneficial re-development projects. The fruits of these continued ventures are already being reaped within the company JD Asset management, which was established in 1997.
Investment has also been made in the IT industry which focuses on web design and development. JD Net Solutions manages both trade and retail ecommerce sites. It has also been of great support and benefit to all companies within the group in terms of efficiency, web presence, access to information and analysis.
Joti joined the company in 2002 after graduating from University and has brought fresh energy and a new approach to the company, facing daily challenges which have instilled increased efficiency and effectiveness within the nursery businesses. Her abilities in planning, organising and coordination of staff, supplies and order processing has earned her title of Operations Director.
The JD Group of Companies, which encompasses companies, and associations and partnerships endeavors to maintain its ’founding philosophy’ of quality, individual service and steady growth. Both directors are enthusiastic and competent in developing global and diverse opportunities for the overall growth of the group.
